Have you already made you are made about getting Six Sigma certified? If so, this article will help you in understanding the steps that will follow once you express your desire of taking Six Sigma Certification tests, and have already started at an institution for studies and projects.
For a quick review, Six Sigma is a quality management methodology that aims to improve the quality of process outputs by analyzing, identifying, and eliminating the causes of errors, thus minimizing variability in a manufacturing process.
Six Sigma uses a set of quality management methods, that includes statistical, analytical, and practical methods to create a special title for people who are experts in these methods. This expertise is evaluated by a series of written tests and interviews, and worthy candidates are awarded certifications and are called “Champions”, “Black Belts”, “Green Belts”, “Yellow Belts”, etc.
Your Six Sigma journey will begin by finding your course of interest in Six Sigma, asking yourself why do you need this? What value will this certificate bring to your career? If you were already done with it, your next few steps should be as follows:
Locate a training Program. Generally, all certifications start with training, and Six Sigma is no different. Your certification journey will begin by locating the right training program. Look for trainers close to you. Google searches will come in handy here if you are clueless. Also, you can contact the people who have already got these certifications.
Enroll in the training program. The college routine will get to repeat itself once again here. Once you get yourself enrolled in a certified Six Sigma Institution, make up your mind for some rigorous study, the bulk of projects, and lots of class time. It is especially true if you have opted for Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification.
Take the written test. On the completion of your training, the next step is to appear and clear a written test. It will prove that you’ve completely learned what all you need to know about Six Sigma. The final phase of your certification journey includes the completion of one or two projects using the Six Sigma methodology. You can term this as your “lab work.”
