England Jolted Pakistan side by defeating them in a one-sided affair last Sunday. Number one ranked T20I side was taken to the cleaners by the English side especially their captain who smashed 57 of just 27 balls. Eoin Morgan finished the game with style by smashing six in the last over.
There were also useful contributions from Joe Root and Joe Denly with the bat. Earlier Jofra Archer bowled with extreme pace to restrict Pakistan side to a mediocre total. Even Babar Azam and Haris Sohail’s fifties could not help Pakistan win the match.
But the turning point of the match was in the 15th over when Haris Sohail perished after scoring fifty and Asif Ali ran out Babar Azam. In the next over Asif Ali got out himself in the same manner. It seemed as if Asif Ali was playing for the England side as first, he was the reason for the dismissal of Babar Azam whom England bowlers were unable to get out. He was all set for a ton.
Secondly, he got out in the same manner next over. Rather than finishing the game due to which Pakistan scored 20 to 30 fewer runs which were the main reason for their defeat. Pakistans bowling and fielding were also below par which largely contributed to their loss.
What’s Next For Pakistan?
Pakistan side is all set to face mighty England in the ODI format. England side is one of the favorites for the world cup. They possess the strongest batting unit in the world. Their batting depth is second to none with Chris Woakes coming in to bat at number 10.
Pakistan side would have to perform out of their skin, Pour some 92 magic out of their pocket in order to slay such a giant. It would require determination, strong character and above all that famous Pakistani Junoon to achieve such a feat. It is a chance for them to become an example, Examples are always given and never forgotten.
