I’m currently doing Yellow Belt Cert & struggling with the ORDER of some steps & TOOL SELECTION in the ANALYSIS phase.
My tutorial wasn’t specific enough & materials I found online haven’t resolved my doubts…
I created a map with my best understanding of POTENTIAL CAUSE IDENTIFICATION & PRIORITIZATION (steps & method selection).
Q1: Does the order of the steps in blue, their content / method selection make sense? Any feedback welcome.
I also added subsequent questions Q2, Q3 & Q4 on the process map (see in orange).
Many thanks in advance for any feedback & clarifications
You do a fish bone with potential reasons , you investigate the potential reasons verifying data with evidence to confirm the actual reason , you then take those confirmed reasons and do a 5 why to establish root cause , you then review potential solutions to the direct and root cause and review the potential success and benefit / impact to the solutions and prioritise and select the actions you want to carry out based on the most benefit and probability of success – using tools like Pareto and solution squares , design of experiment – what ever you feel is suitable based on the issue – you have a whole tool box you can use dependant on the problem your solving and there is no one correct answer – this is probably why your training was no specific and there is no one correct answer on the tools you should use
